About the Director – Tina Mammoser
I am a professional artist based in Scarborough, producing my own abstract paintings and drawings. My background includes 15 years as a full-time working artist, and in that time I have worked with many London-based galleries both as a represented artist and as artist staff. In addition, I’ve been a gallery assistant at various art events such as the Glasgow Art Fair, London Affordable Art Fair, and the Cork Street Open. This has given me curatorial, administration, and good old dogs-body experience in running exhibitions. Both my enjoyment working with galleries as staff and as an artist, and a passion for science art inspired me to open Grejczik Gallery.
My educational background is extremely varied and amongst my six university qualifications are three in the sciences: a BSc in Human Development, a BSc in Physics and a Diploma in Geology. I am a member of the Institute of Physics and the Geologist’s Association to keep up with events and news. I’m also an active member of the Open University Geology Society, taking part in hands on events and field excursions.
Academics, and science in particular, are a passion.
My experience and the gallery offers the opportunity to also present talks and workshops on art and science topics. These have included workshops on the history of drawing in astronomy for the Essex Wildlife Trust, talks to artist societies on how geology influences artwork, and a presentation on colour in art vs astronomy for the Hubble Telescope 20th anniversary in 2015.
Grejczik Gallery is named after my grandfather – Raymond Grejczik. Thank you for the encouragement grandpa! But no, there are no royalties.
*Please note we are not currently accepting applications from artists. Inclusion is by invitation only.
